Le tableau monumental « Bateau sur un ruisseau d`hiver », créé en 1904 dans l`atelier du remarquable artiste russe Julius Yulievich Klever, emmène le spectateur dans le monde de la paix hivernale . Julius Yulievich Klever. Father. (1850-1924). Academician of the Imperial Academy of Arts 1878; professor since 1881. Russian-Soviet salon-academic landscape painter of German origin. Born in Dorpat in the family of Julius von Klever, teacher of the Veterinary Institute, Master of Chemistry. Early fascinated by art, he finds himself in St. Petersburg in the landscape classes of the Academy of Arts, where he studies under the guidance of Vorobiev and then Klodt. During his studies, he was awarded a large and small silver medals. The first successes come in 1871. His painting "The Abandoned Cemetery in Winter" was accepted by the art community and acquired by Count Stroganov. The following year, the painting "Sunset" was acquired by the Grand Duchess Maria Nikolaevna. Since 1874 the artist has taken part in exhibitions of the Society for the Encouragement of Arts. Where he receives a personal exhibition and awards. In 1876, Alexander II acquired his painting "Birch Forest" and he, who did not complete the academic course, was awarded the title of class artist of the first degree, and in 1878 he received the title of academician for "Old Park". A year later, the work "Virgin Forest" was acquired by Tretyakov, another - "Nargen Island" - by the Grand Duke Alexei Alexandrovich. and "Forest in Winter" by Alexander III. The Academy of Arts awarded Y.Y. Klever the title of professor in 1881. The quick success of Y.Y. Klever gave the artist many orders and the need for assistants. Sometimes creating a painting a day, Clover often brush over the underpaints made by his assistants. This is how numerous works of “Clover′s workshop.” After the revolution and until the end of his life he taught at the Academy of Arts and at the Central School of Technical Drawing, where he headed the department of monumental painting.
